China Telecom Americas (CTA) has been named finalist for the 2023 Outstanding Support for Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) Vision and Mission Award. Every year in January, PTC brings the global communications industry to gorgeous Honolulu, Hawaii to focus on planning, networking, and discovering what lies ahead for the information and communication technologies (ICT) industry.
As PTC’s website states, “PTC’s vision is a better world where people and organizations are connected through the innovative use of ICT. PTC’s mission is to advance the ethical development and use of ICT.”
As a leading facility-resale carrier with unique access to providers in Asia and the Americas, CTA advances enterprise connectivity by serving customers with an end-to-end suite of locally based, custom-designed communications solutions connecting over 110 countries and markets worldwide.
In providing a wide range of services—including direct internet access, internet transit, data services, data center, ICT services, mobile voice, and industry solutions—that deliver connectivity to rural and developing areas in Asia-Pacific (APAC), CTA has minimized the digital and social gap among Pacific communities and driven digital transformation in the fastest growing market in the world.
CTA was founded with the purpose to connect the Americas and APAC. In quest to further our commitment to provide secure network connectivity, CTA led through action in becoming the first tier-1 network provider to be conformant with Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS), a global initiative that provides crucial fixes to reduce common routing threats faced by network operators worldwide.
Fostering inclusivity and collaboration, CTA actively promoted MANRS over the past year to encourage more Tier 1 network providers to become MANRS conformant, emphasizing the importance of advancing the ethical development and use of ICT on the wider ecosystem.
We are thrilled and honored to be recognized by the PTC committee. With this exciting announcement, it should come as little surprise that CTA will attend PTC again this year! We look forward to meeting and networking with you, so please be sure to register now at this link if you haven’t already, and see the full shortlist of PTC Awards nominees here.
